Ownership

For a film to be 'British' it needs to have a significant creative involvement. whether the film is British r not the government sometimes give tax breaks even if the money comes from else where

Gravity

It's American-funded, Mexican-directed starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. The film was mainly shot in space but the only earth scene was shot in Canada. The film was in NASA. The only reason it is British is because the director David Heyman is British and he also produced the harry potter films. it uses a lot American terminology and includes the  American flags.

Harry Potter
  • Identified as a British film.
  • Set in Britain
  • Many of the actors including Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliff and Rupert Grint are British.
  • However the distribution company was American.
  • 2 out of 4 directors are British
